My Laundry is Caught Up

I just had to document for my moms sake that sometimes, yes, my laundry does get caught up.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentines day. Olivia & Maddy had school parties and Ethan got to tag along!
Mike gave Maddy a heart locket, and Livvy an engraved bracelet. Ethan got a great big stuffed puppy. Mike got me a mother's locket for all the kids pictures.

Maddy's "Broken Arm"

Maddy got rollerblades for her Birthday, and less than 3 days later we were in the ER with a possible lacunar fracture of the wrist!! Aghhh.. Well they temporary casted her and refered us to a Orthopedic for the following week. Well Maddy, of course, was almost crippled from her injury. There was alot of sympathy to go around, and a couple doses of Tylenol with codeine.





Well a week later at the Ortho's office they pronounced that there was not a fracture, and the ER has mis diagnosed! Well Maddy was thrilled, she was getting tired of having her thumb tied up in the cast! She had fun having a "broken arm" for the week.

Time Out

Olivia attends pre school 3 days a week and has been frequently coming home and telling us that she had to spend time in "time out" at school. When asked why, she will get a pained look on her face and say, "I was talking while my teacher was talking", or "I pushed Paige, because I wanted the skittles..." and so on. Well I assumed that it would get better, however each week I would hear from Olivia of at least one instance of her being disciplined. This has been distressing especially since Maddy was a star pupil at this preschool. Anyway I took her to school determined that I would speak with Ms. S about Olivia's behavior problem. Well, when I spoke with Ms. S about Olivia's frequent time outs, she looked confused, and then laughed! She said Olivia has NEVER been in time out! The stinker has been coming home for months and talking about "time out" and how naughty she has been. Lyns seems to think she is needing some extra attention. She sure got it each day when I would ask her if she sat in time out, and why?

Tornadoes in Lake County

As everyone knows Lake County was hit by a F3 tornado last Thursday. A town 30 minutes from us was devastated with 20 dead. Please keep these families in your prayers. The community has come together to help these families, and the Red Cross is on scene with FEMA.
Our church and many in the county is gathering food, gift cards and household items for the victims. It is estimated FEMA trailers will be here by Friday.

Cold days in Florida

It is 52 degrees, a little too cold for my taste. We have spent the whole day schooling in front of the roaring fire. We are currently reading Carry On Mr Bowditch by Jean Latham. It is a biography of Nathaniel Bowditch's life during the post Revolutionary war period.The main theme underlying Nat's life and childhood is perseverance.

We are still studying American History we have just made it into the Post Revolution Period which is a little drier than what we were previously studying. I am trying to explain government concepts and the Articles of Confederation, and Maddy is less than excited. I am hoping it will pick up a little ~~ Well the Civil War is coming in about 100 years!

Olivia is enjoying preschool. She goes three days a week, and loves her teachers. Today she came home excited about planting seeds in science class. I have a feeling a garden may be in our future this spring. She will be entering the talent show in March, and her special talent is jump roping!

Ethan is toddling around demanding everyones attention. He is so cute and spoiled. He can say mama, dada, baba, sissy, and caca. He is such a big boy at his last check up he weighed 29 pounds, what a little bruiser!

I am trying to stay focused with maintaining a schedule with Maddy. I am really trying to stay diligent to my lesson plans daily, much to Maddy's dislike. Maddy would prefer to take Art classes since she has informed me she will be moving to Lake Martin to become an artist! I have tried to convince mom to just take her on up!
