Well in the midst of all this I decided I MUST organize all my sewing gear, and return my dining room to normalcy. Now I have a funny sense of priorities. If I get it in my head that something needs organizing, I cannot do anything else until it is complete (hence slinging my toddler). I can't focus on school or laundry because the disorganized area or project is eating away at me. So off Mike went to Ikea to find this super tall bookcase that would fit beside my buffet to hold all of my soon to be color/season/coded sewing stuff. Mike returned victorious with a long flat box that was soon to transform my dining room into organized bliss (chills). After telling me I was NEVER allowed to go to Ikea (He was scared for his wallet) we put the bookcase together. Well he put it together and I supervised from the LaZBoy. Here is a pic
Well Ethan was up all night just achey, and fighting me everytime it was time for medicine. There is nothing like holding down a 36lb determined toddler and trying to shove medicine down his throat. I especially love when he spits it back out while making raspberries. It splatters all over you, nice and sticky. Well I fixed him. I gave him a fever all suppository. It was amazing how this morning he was willing to take his medicine by mouth when I said I would have to put it in his bottom again (ouch)!
Well Saturday was the Art Festival and Maddy & Olivia ran a lemonade stand with some friends who had a house in town. They really raked in. They made 41.00, so next year I think I am going to run a stand... This was Liv's stand she set up in the garage while I was painting.
I started to paint a particleboard bookshelf however I am not sure if I like how it is turning out at the moment. It is harder to distress than regular wood, so we will see what I am going to do with it. I still have not found the perfect turquoise paint color...
My garden is ripe at the moment. I planted way too much lettuce so there will be salad for the next few weeks. My onions only made it to the green onion stage, not sure what happened. My brocoli was eaten by something? The bib lettuce, leaf lettuce, green onions and kale turned out. My strawberries never had any fruit. My blueberry bushes have a few berries (yeah
Oh and on my way in from the garden I walked pass my outside Full garbage cans and thought I heard my cell phone ringing. Confused I called it and heard it ringing from one of the cans..Well after digging through a weekend's worth of superbowl chicken wings and pizza I found it at the very bottom. My dear sweet Maddy who was given the task yesterday of cleaning out Mommy's car just scooped everything up on the floorboards and toseed it....grrrrr
Well part of my meal planning this week is to try and eat out of the pantry and freezer and not go to the store. Well I didn't thaw out anything so I was a little challenged by the thought of dinner. And since my family would not appreciate a lettuce, green onion and kale dinner I had to come up with something else. Well I decided on tuna casserole and salad. I have never made this for my kids, and boy are they spoiled!! I remember this being on the menus almost weekly when I was a kid. Liv and Maddy turned up their noses like I was serving purina (well it did kind of resemble purina) but it was good. I bet they would appreciate it more if I pulled out the Kale salad instead...
Projects for this week include, serious meal planning, listing a ton of clothes on ebay, organizing the school room, catching up last weeks laundry, finish the bench and bookcase, think about painting the back porch ceiling, keeping up a full week of school...
Well Ethan looks tired so we are off to bed, hopefully for a FULL nights sleep

Hello...AMAZING! Your dining room/sewing room transformation. WOW! And the garden...is there anything you can't do?
Awesome sewing room! And I love the turquoise shelves--awesome! I hope Ethan is feeling better. Hopefully your other two kids won't get it and insist on being held for three days. I recently made Kale and it was actually good. I sauteed it in olive oil with garlic. Even my kids liked it.
I don't think I can sling Maddy
Wow Girl, you have been busy!! I love your sewing area also. And your garden is awesome. My dogs dug up my brand new garden beds. GRRRR. So now we have to put up a fence! I love the way you decorate. I think we have the same taste! Glad that Ethan is feeling better!!
