My weekend was a little bit crazy. I had been waiting for several weeks for bookcases and a table to come in for our new school room. The lady who was ordering them was not returning my phone calls, I had books stacked all over my house. Five years of Sonlight will put a strain on anyone's idea of shelf space. It does not help that I am a recovering curriculum junkie (Tiff I haven't even cracked open that prairie primer =) ). Anyway I hate conflict, so I was trying to be nice about getting all of my furniture in. Life Lesson: Don't pay for everything up front! You have no leverage when after 4 months your furniture is nowhere to be seen. Anyway, my bookshelves appeared on Friday in a rather surprising color! Whimsical blue! Now, mind you I love color. I have a red dining room, yellow living room, granny smith green kitchen, and pink striped kids room. I AM not scared of color, however my bookcases were supposed to be a creamy white since my walls in the schoolroom are blue. Well I really want some bookshelves, school is starting Monday, and I do like the blue shelves, so what's a girl to do, but PAINT! Yes, I painted my blue room the color "beach glass". Yes, I did this on Friday, 2 hours before our High School Musical 2 party. The shelves arrived during the party. I just painted this room a beautiful blue and stamped bricks on the concrete floor in May. So repainting was not my idea of fun. And I am still secretly mourning the loss of the old blue color.

So the party goes on, all my friends pick their way through my ransacked house, and politely disregard any dirt, laundry, or dishes. In fact Amy did my dishes, Bless her!!! So later that night around 11-12 ish Mike said he felt itchy? He had hives all over his body, I gave him 50mg of Benadryl and it seemed to help. The next day, Saturday, Mike woke withmore hives, and I gave him more Benadryl. I had a meeting down at Circle in Orlando til noon. Our friends were coming over at noon to help Mike set up our new Bob Jones Homesat Satellite. Life Lesson #2 Opt for trained professional installation. Lucky for us these friends are good friends and didn't mind spending 6+ hours trying to get a signal on the roof.
In the meantime I have accepted a dinner invitation with another couple, and am stressing on trying to get there in time. My girlfriend and her husband stay behind with Mike to continue to work on the Satellite. Mike has hives again, and my furniture lady shows up as I am walking out to deliver the table. Now my girlfriend is not scared of confrontation and has been itching to get at the lady who has caused such schoolroom turmoil. Can you say chaos. I resigned myself that the fur was going to fly and packed up all my kids plus Maddy's friend who has been staying with us for the last 4 days and went to dinner. My girlfriend didn't kill her, and I hope to receive the rest of my order in the next few days (hopefully). When I got home, the satellite was working, most of my schoolroom was together, however Mike was miserable with hives, and the meds were not working. We could not figure out what the cause was, nothing had changed in his diet, or soaps. It is probably my book shelves, that is just my luck. Anyway by midnight he could not stand it, and had to go to the ER for IV benadryl and steroids. He got home around 5am, and I was supposed to have church nursery. So my weekend was just chaotic, Mike has not had any more episode of hives. I wonder if my party/schoolroom painting/furniture delivery/satellite installation put his nerves over the edge and gave him hives? hmmmm. Anyway the first day of school was great, and Olivia LOVES preschool, so all is well!!

My baby is soo cute!!!! She is so grown up!
I'm exhausted just reading about your week-end. You neglected your ministry to GTHS and Angel Food in all of that. How, oh how, did you get the pictures to post in the middle of your message and with text around it like the "and this..." ones? I haven't explored it much, but I can't figure it out so all my pics are at the top of my posts. HELP!
