Easter Dresses

I am still making Maddy's patchwork skirt, I had to go get more charm squares today...
So, I worked on Maddy's top. It was a little slow going and I am not sure I like the outcome..

I just need to add straps and it will be finished

Do you think I should add two rounded pockets in the bodice material? And should I add halter straps or regular straps?

Pockets would be cute! Make the little round pockets and put a ruffle along the top open edge to tie in the ruffle of the bodice material. If you want to go crazy you could pipe between the pocket and ruffle with the red print stripe from the skirt part...
I personally like regular straps for a little girl. Halter straps can look too grown up, imo. If you do criss cross straps they won't slip off her shoulders. You could make the straps out of the red stripe and make a ruffle on the outer edge of the blue polka dot or rose material if she wouldn't balk at it being to 'little girlish'. You have to remember, I'm thinking like the mother of a five year old!
It's beautiful and very flattering. You always pick such great fabric!

I agree that halter can look too grown up- criss cross is a great idea! I'm sure you'll do a great job whatever you do!

Beautiful, L.!! It's very similar to the top Mad and I are making. I love the contrast fabric around the bottom. I think I cut Mad's top a little short, so that gives me an idea about what to do.

Wow! You are really getting good at the sewing. I'm really proud of you! I think the regular strape would look the best. Keep up the good work!
